Roger King


Roger King, 69, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Mary (Sunseri) King, died peacefully on Sunday, August 13th, with his wife by his side. Roger was born on March 4, 1948, in Hartford, CT, son of the late Fred and Elsie (Nelson) King. He was a graduate of South Windsor High School, Class of 1967. He served our country with the Navy during Vietnam aboard the USS Flying Fish (SSN-673), a Sturgeon class nuclear attack submarine. Roger married the love of his life, Mary, in 1972, and theyled in South Windsor. He received a heart transplant in 1996, graduated Manchester Community College in 1998, and became a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Counselor with Community Solutions Inc. He enjoyed casino trips, video games, The Los Angeles Dodgers, and the open road, and was an avid fisherman. He loved bass fishing with family and friends locally, and on Lake Ontario. He was proud of the home he built in South Windsor and took pride in his yard.
